The objective of this project was to characterize in-situ viscosity distributions in tumbling mills based on a combination of shear rate data from PEPT experiments, and rheological characterization data from rheometer experiments. The methodology of extracting shear rates from PEPT data was developed and preliminary rheometer experiments that correspond to the shear rate regimes in the PEPT data were performed.. The experimental matrix entailed the variation of solids concentrations from 20 wt% to 40 wt% and mill speed between 60% and 75% of the critical mass speed.
